Vee Kay Dies & Mould Enterprises sits out on Khera Dewat Road in Gurgaon. It is not a very flashy part of town but it works for what we do. We are near Shiv Vatika and the Railway Road is not too far away either. Most days it is quite dusty and hot because of the open roads and the heavy trucks passing by. Our workshop at No. 1523 is filled with heavy moulds and die sets that take up a lot of space. We have some machines that run pretty loud and the smell of cooling oil is always around. It is a place where we get our hands dirty every single hour. We usually start quite early before the sun gets too high because the shed can get warm. Sometimes the guys from the other workshops stop by to borrow a tool or just to chat for a bit. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved in our daily routine here. We have a small table in the corner where we keep our ledgers and have our lunch. It isn't a corporate setup by any means. It’s just us working on Khera Dewat Road trying to get orders out on time. The nearby Shiv Vatika is a good landmark for people who get lost trying to find our gate. We don't have a big sign but the sound of the machines usually tells people they are at the right spot. We finish up late most nights and the walk back to the station is quite long.
