If you come by in the morning, you’ll see the whole area coming to life with workers and delivery vans. Our place is pretty typical for Gurugram 122016. It is a big space filled with the smell of new fabric and the sound of packing tape being pulled off the roll. We have rows of shelves that go up to the ceiling, and someone is usually on a ladder trying to find a specific box. It gets pretty hot in the middle of the day, so we have the big doors open to catch whatever air we can. We don't have a fancy lobby or a person in a suit greeting you at the door. You’ll usually just find one of us with a clipboard and a pen behind our ear. We spend a lot of time checking labels and making sure the apparel is packed correctly before it heads out. It is the kind of work that keeps you on your feet all day. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big speeches; we just want to make sure the day's work gets done right. Sometimes we stay late when a big order comes in, but that is just how it goes in the textile world. It’s a busy life but it keeps us out of trouble and the bills paid.
