Shiv Narayan Jai Gopal

We are located right in the heart of Sadar Bazar, which is probably the busiest place you can imagine. The shop has been under the name Shiv Narayan Jai Gopal for a long time. It’s the kind of place where you walk in and there are boxes stacked up to the ceiling. We don't have much room to move around, especially when the morning delivery comes and the handcarts are blocking the entrance. It’s noisy and crowded, but that’s just how Sadar Bazar works. I spend most of my day sitting at the wooden gaddi, talking to customers and writing out slips. We sell a variety of daily items, mostly wholesale stuff that people buy in bulk for their own small shops or for their homes. You get used to the constant shouting of the street vendors outside and the smell of tea from the stall next door. Sometimes I think about organizing the shelves better, but honestly, I know where every single item is even if it looks like a mess to someone else. My father ran this place before me, and not much has changed since then. We use the same old heavy shutters and the same iron safe. It’s a lot of work, staying here from early morning until the market finally slows down at night. We don't do any internet selling or anything like that; people just know we are here and they come when they need something.
