Raman Handlooms

Raman Handlooms is located at 972/18, right opposite Apna Bazar in the Civil Line area. Being across from the bazaar means there is always a lot of foot traffic and people moving about. It’s a good spot to be in because the area is always full of life. Our shop is quite simple. We have rolls of cloth and various handloom items sitting on the counters and shelves. It’s not a polished showroom; it’s more of a working shop where things are moved around all day. We spend a lot of time unfolding and folding back fabrics for people to look at. The Civil Line neighborhood has a certain feel to it that we really like. It’s a mix of old and new. We have some old wooden stools for sitting down when it’s quiet. Sometimes we just stand by the door and watch the people going into Apna Bazar. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so we keep the door open to catch whatever breeze there is. We’ve been at this address for a long time and the locals know where to find us. We don’t use any complicated systems, just a notebook and some pens to keep track of things. It is a straightforward way to run a business. We focus on what we have in stock and let the day-to-day work take care of itself. We are usually here from morning until the bazaar slows down.
