Rajasthani Sweet

Rajasthani Sweet is located in Rohini over in Sector 13, specifically at Rang Rasayan Apartment. We are in Block No 9/B, Flat No 64 specifically. It’s a bit of a different setup being in an apartment complex like this, but people seem to find us alright. We spend most of our time around big vats of milk and sugar. Making sweets takes a lot of patience that most people don't see. You have to stand there stirring for hours sometimes. The smell of cardamom is basically stuck in our clothes forever. We don't have a big shiny storefront with neon lights. It’s more of a local operation for the neighborhood. We get people from the other blocks coming in for a box of something when they have guests over. The floor is usually a bit sticky no matter how much we scrub it at the end of our shift. That’s just the nature of the business when you work with syrup all day. Some mornings are quiet and we just sit and prep the trays. Other times, like during festivals, it’s a total madhouse and we barely have room to move around in the kitchen area. We don’t really have a fancy philosophy. We just make the sweets the way we were taught by our elders. It’s hard work on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. If you’re around Rohini, you might have heard of us. We just keep our heads down and keep the stove going.
