This is where Rajesh Kumar runs things out of VPO Sikander Pur Badha in the Gurgaon district. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city center of Haryana, but this is where the work gets done. The office is really just a simple spot in the village. We don't have big signs or a lobby with a receptionist. Most people who come by are locals or people we’ve known for a long time. The roads around Sikander Pur Badha can get a bit dusty when the weather is dry. We deal with various service tasks throughout the day. It’s mostly just making sure the paperwork is right and talking to people on the phone. Rajesh stays busy with the local projects and keeping things moving. It’s a small operation, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. There isn't a strict corporate ladder here. If something needs fixing or a document needs to be delivered, whoever is free just does it. We keep our tools and supplies in the back area. The village atmosphere makes it a lot more relaxed than the high-rise offices you see in the rest of Gurgaon. Sometimes we sit outside when the weather is nice to discuss what needs to happen for the week. It’s a straightforward way of working. We just focus on getting the tasks finished without making a big fuss about it. There is always something to fix or look after around here.
