Daya Nand Bal Kishan

Daya Nand Bal Kishan is our small business located at Vasi Apartment. We are right near Vasi Chowk, which is a pretty crowded area most days of the week. Being near the chowk means there is always noise from the traffic and people shouting, but we have gotten used to it over the years. The shop is on the ground floor and it's packed with all sorts of things. We have been here for a long time, and the name on the sign is a bit faded now, but everyone in the neighborhood knows where we are. It’s a traditional setup. I usually sit behind the counter while the boys help move the stock around. We don't have a website or any of that new stuff. People just know to come here when they need something specific. Sometimes we spend more time chatting with the customers about the local news than actually selling things, but that’s just how things work in this part of town. The apartment building is old, and the space is a bit cramped, especially when a new shipment arrives and we have nowhere to put the crates. We just stack them up and hope nobody trips. It’s a lived-in kind of place, full of history and a bit of dust. We don't plan on changing much. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and see who walks through the door near the chowk.
