Bechtel India Pvt Ltd is based out of 894 Saraswati Vihar, on the first floor. This is right near the Post Chakkarpur area in Gurgaon. If you’ve ever walked through Saraswati Vihar, you know it’s a mix of homes and small businesses all packed together. Being on the first floor means we get a bit of a view of the street below, which can be quite entertaining during the evening rush hour. The office itself is nothing out of the ordinary. It’s just a space we’ve filled with desks and all the equipment we need to run things properly. We don't have a big corporate lobby or a fancy sign out front. It’s more of a place where you walk in and see everyone already busy with something. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step. We’ve gotten to know the neighbors a bit, mostly the folks in the other offices on this block. It’s a very local feel. We don’t really go in for big corporate policies; we just try to be decent to each other and get the work done on time. Chakkarpur is a busy spot, so there’s always something happening outside the windows. We just keep our heads down and stay focused on the day’s work without making a scene about it.
