Being out here at 2 Rajiv Colony, right on the NH-8 highway, means we see a lot of traffic. The Delhi Jaipur Highway is never quiet. Doing tubewell work has been our main thing for quite a while now. Most people around Gurgaon know that finding water can be a bit of a gamble, so they come talk to us. We have the big rigs and the pipes stored out back. It is heavy work and we are often covered in mud or grease by the time noon rolls around. The office is small and mostly filled with old logs and maps of where we have drilled before. We aren't big on fancy computers or digital systems. We rely more on what we have seen on the ground over the years. Some days we are out at a site for twelve hours straight just waiting for the bit to hit the right spot. It’s a lot of waiting and then a lot of fast work. We keep the equipment in the back and there is always someone tinkering with a pump or a motor. The highway noise is just a constant backdrop to our day. People stop by because they saw the sign while driving past. We just tell them how it is, what we can do, and when we can get there. It’s a practical business for people who need water in this area. We just do what needs to be done.
