Devinder Furniture Works

We’re over at Umang Monsoon Breeze in Sector 78. Devinder Furniture Works is based right here, at No. I 1001. It’s a bit different from a typical woodshop since we’re in a building, but we’ve made it work for us. We handle a lot of wood and assembly every day. There’s always sawdust around, no matter how many times we sweep the floor. We make tables, chairs, and cabinets for people living in the area. Most of the time, we’re busy measuring and sanding things down by hand. It’s slow work if you want it to look okay and be solid. We don't use a lot of fancy machinery, mostly just hand tools and our own strength. People come to us when they need something sturdy that won't break. We aren't like those big furniture stores where everything is made of plastic or cheap board. We use real wood when we can get it. Sometimes the weather makes the wood swell, and we have to wait for it to dry out properly before we can finish a piece. It’s just us working here, so it’s quiet most of the time except for the sound of the saw or the hammer. We try to be very careful with the noise because we have neighbors close by. We’ve lived and worked around here for a while. It’s a simple business. We take an order, we build it, and then we deliver it to the customer. That’s all there is to it.
