If you head down to the Jacob Pura Furniture Market on Jacobpura Road, you’ll find Sambhav Furniture. It’s right in the thick of things where all the other woodworkers and shops are. The smell of sawdust and varnish is always in the air around here. Our shop is a bit crowded because we try to fit as many pieces as we can on the floor. We’ve been at this spot for years, watching the market change. Sambhav Furniture is basically a workshop and a showroom all in one. There’s usually someone out front sanding down a chair or moving a table. It’s a loud street with a lot of honking and people haggling for prices. We don't have a fancy air-conditioned office, just a small fan that blows the dust around. The back of the shop is where we keep the raw wood and the tools. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles sometimes. We spend our days talking to customers who walk in from Jacobpura Road and showing them what we’ve been working on. Most of our furniture is solid and made to last, nothing like the flimsy stuff you see in big stores. We’re usually covered in a bit of wood dust by the time we close up the shutters. It’s hard work, but being part of the Jacob Pura market feels right. We keep our prices fair and our doors open to anyone who wanders in to look around.
