K C Stationers

K C Stationers is located on New Railway Road, right at number 7. It’s a narrow shop but we’ve managed to fit a lot into it. There are stacks of notebooks everywhere. If you walk in, you’ll probably see us sorting through pens or sharpening pencils. The New Railway Road area is always loud with horns and people rushing to the station. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people who walk past. It’s not a very quiet job. We spend a lot of time counting out envelopes and reordering stock that runs low. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes we have to use a ladder that’s a bit shaky. We don't have any fancy displays. It’s just stuff people need for school or their offices nearby. The floor is old tile and it creaks a bit. We try to keep things organized, but when it gets busy, papers end up everywhere. It’s just a neighborhood shop. We open early because that’s when people are heading out. We’ve got a lot of blue and black ink on our hands by the end of the shift. It’s just how it is working with stationery all day. We like the rhythm of it. Some days are slower than others, but there is always something to count or stack. We don't really use a computer much for the small stuff, just a pen and a notepad like the ones we sell.
