Nehru Place is a crazy place to work, honestly. We are tucked away at 305/85 and it’s usually packed with people looking for computer parts or getting papers printed. At Bawa Stationers, we spend most of the day surrounded by stacks of paper, registers, and boxes of pens. It’s not a quiet job. There is always the sound of someone asking for a specific type of file or a stapler that actually works. We’ve seen this area change a lot over the years. Some days it feels like we are just moving piles of notebooks from one side of the room to the other. Our shop isn't very big, so things tend to get piled up high. You have to be careful where you step. We get a lot of office workers coming in during their lunch breaks, usually in a hurry. We try to find what they need quickly so they can get back to their jobs. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit there in the dark for a bit, waiting for the generator to kick in. It’s a bit of a scramble every morning to get the shutters up and the floors swept before the first customer walks in. We don't do anything fancy here, just sell the stuff people need for their desks and school kids' bags. It’s a simple living for us in the middle of all the noise.
