Vijaya Spices

Our place is located at 238/1 in Ankireddy Palem, right here in Guntur. If you know this area, you know it's famous for spices, and we’re right in the middle of it. The smell of chili and turmeric is pretty much everywhere around our building. It’s a straightforward operation we’ve got going. We spend most of our mornings sorting through what comes in from the local farms. It’s a lot of manual work, honestly. We don't have those massive automated lines you see on TV; it’s more about people sitting down and checking the quality by hand. Guntur heat can be something else, especially when you're working with hot peppers, but we’re used to it by now. The warehouse gets dusty, and the floors are always stained with some color or another. We've been here for a good bit of time, and the neighbors all know us. It’s not a quiet job. There’s always the sound of bags being moved or the grinder running in the back. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the narrow lane leading up to 238/1, which causes a bit of a headache for everyone. We try to get the packing done before the sun gets too high. It’s just how life is here in Ankireddy Palem. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to get the bags filled and sent out to the markets like always. We often sit outside for a bit during the lunch break, just watching the traffic go by.
