The Rajasthan State Agricultural Marketing Board office is situated at No.4-4-83/4, right on the 1st Line in Chandramouli Nagar. We are pretty easy to find because the Sahaja Restaurant is nearby, and that’s where most of us go to grab a quick bite when we get a break. The building itself is a bit older, and the walls are covered with notices and old calendars. We spend most of our time dealing with the local farming community and the various markets around the region. It isn’t a flashy place at all. There are stacks of files on almost every desk, and the ceiling fans hum constantly to keep the air moving during those hot Rajasthan afternoons. People come in and out all day with different questions about prices and logistics. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with everyone talking at once, especially when the market season is at its peak. We have some wooden chairs for visitors that have been around for decades. The windows look out onto the street, and we can see the daily traffic of Chandramouli Nagar passing by. It is mostly a lot of paperwork and talking to people about their crops. We just try to keep things organized and make sure the records are updated as best as we can. It’s a steady job in a busy part of town, nothing more and nothing less.
