My shop is over in Sharma Market in Surajpur. We've been here a good while now, mostly dealing with batteries and all that electrical stuff that goes wrong in cars and bikes. It’s a messy place, to be honest. There’s always wires laying around and old battery casings piled up in the corner. If your car won't start in the morning, people usually just drag it over here. I do the work myself along with a couple of guys who know their way around a multimeter. We don't have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. You just stand by the road or sit on a plastic stool while we figure out why your headlights are flickering or why the battery isn't holding a charge anymore. Surajpur gets busy, so sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped, but we manage. We handle the heavy batteries for trucks too, which is back-breaking work sometimes. Most days it’s just grease and sparks. We don't do anything fancy, just fixing what's broken so people can get back to their jobs. The tools we use are old but they still work fine. Sometimes the power goes out in the market and we just keep working with flashlights. It’s a simple life here at C H Malik Battery Works & Auto Electric Works. We see the same faces every week. People know where to find us when their tractor or car acts up.
