Our place is on the Delhi Saharanpur Road in Loni, right at Rampark A 21. If you pass by, you’ll usually see stacks of metal pipes and folded-up chairs waiting to be loaded onto a truck. We do a lot of the local weddings and small parties around here. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. When it’s wedding season, nobody gets much sleep. We are out there setting up tents in the middle of the night or cooking large pots of dal while the sun is coming up. The road outside is always busy with trucks, so it gets quite dusty around the gate. We’ve got a small team of guys who have been with us for a long time. They know how to handle the heavy fabric and the bamboo poles without much direction anymore. The kitchen area is where the real work happens, with the smell of spices and the heat from the big burners. We don't have a fancy office to show people. Usually, we just sit on one of the folding chairs and talk about what the customer needs for their event. It’s a tough business because things break or get stained, so we’re always fixing or washing something. But seeing a finished tent with all the lights on makes the hard work feel worth it. We deal with the rain and the wind as best as we can.
