Travelshop Holidays is located in the GDA Building over on Railway Station Road. If you know the Railway Colony area in Gorakhpur, you’ll know it’s one of the busiest parts of town. We are right in the middle of all that 273012 action. It’s a bit of a walk from the platforms, but we get a lot of people who just hopped off a train and need help with the next part of their journey. The office itself is pretty functional. We have some maps on the wall and a few desks that have seen better days. Working near the station means you hear the trains all day long, and there’s a constant stream of people carrying bags. We don’t have a slick sales pitch. Usually, people just come in because they’re tired and want to get their holiday sorted without a fuss. We talk to families, solo travelers, and sometimes groups of students. It’s a lot of coordination, making sure the cars are ready and the hotels know who is coming. Some days are long, especially when the trains are delayed and everyone’s plans change at the last minute. We just handle it as it happens, one person at a time. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s interesting to meet so many people from different places. We’re just a local shop trying to stay organized in the middle of all the station chaos.
