Out here in Baheri, things move a bit differently than in the big cities. Kesar Enterprises Ltd. has been part of this landscape for a long time, specifically the Sugar & Distillery Division. When you drive up to the site, you can usually smell the molasses in the air before you even see the gates. It is a big operation, but it feels like a small community because most of the people working here live just down the road. During the crushing season, the place never sleeps. There are tractors and trucks lined up, and the noise of the machinery becomes a background hum you eventually stop hearing. We spend our days in the office area, which is usually covered in a fine layer of dust despite our best efforts. It is practical work. We deal with the farmers and the production schedules without much fuss. There is no corporate polish here; the walls could use a fresh coat of paint and the furniture is heavy and old. We focus on the daily output and making sure the distillery side is running right. It gets hot in the summer, and the rains make the ground around Baheri quite muddy, but we keep at it. Kesar Enterprises Ltd. is just a fixture of the area. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just making sugar and spirits and keeping the wheels turning for everyone involved in the mill.
