This company is run through Jashawant Singh’s place out in Pipnar. We’re located in the Mardah area of Ghazipur, which is a place where most people know each other. Pipnar Om Agro Navkrishak sounds like a long name, but we’re just a bunch of local guys trying to do right by our land. We got together because the costs of everything keep going up, and it was getting harder to make ends meet alone. We don’t have any slick marketing or a front desk. Most of our meetings happen right in the village where we can see the fields. We talk about what’s growing well and what isn't. Sometimes we argue about when to plant, but we usually figure it out in the end. It’s a lot of physical work, and our hands are rarely clean. We deal with the logistics of moving our crops to the bigger markets, which can be a real pain with the local roads. Every day is a bit different. One day we’re fixing a broken pump, and the next we’re trying to understand some new regulation. We aren't experts in everything, but we know our soil. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when it's harvest time. Then, everyone is working from dawn until way after the sun goes down. It's just what we do to make sure we survive the year. Every season brings its own set of problems.
