Maa Tijiya Iti College

Down on Ghazipur Road in the Mardah area, you’ll find Maa Tijiya Iti College. We are specifically an ITI, which means we focus on industrial training and teaching practical skills. Our address is Mardah, Ghazipur - 233226. The atmosphere here is a bit different from a regular degree college because you’ll often hear the sound of tools and machinery coming from the workshops. We have different trades like electrics or mechanics where the students get their hands dirty learning the work. The building is a functional one, built for work rather than looking pretty. There are posters on the walls about safety and technical diagrams. Most of the young men and women who come here are looking for a way to get a job in a factory or start their own small repair shops. We don't use a lot of fancy words here; we just show them how to use the equipment and explain the theory behind it. The road outside is often busy with traffic heading towards Ghazipur, and we get quite a bit of noise from that. In the office, we handle the trade certificates and the apprenticeship applications. It’s a straightforward place. The staff knows the technical side of things well, and they spend more time in the workshops than at their desks. We just want to make sure the students learn a real skill they can actually use to earn a living once they leave us.
