Haji Iliyas Inter College

Our school, Haji Iliyas Inter College, is over in Daulatpur, which is in the Mau area, zip code 221705. It's a place where kids from the village and nearby spots come to finish their inter college years. If you walk down the main path in Daulatpur, you’ll find us easily enough. We aren't a big city school with polished floors. It’s more of a practical place where people know each other. Most of the staff live nearby, so we all walk or ride our bikes to work. The classrooms are basic but they do the job. You’ll hear the noise of the students during the breaks, which is the same as any school really. We have the usual blackboards and wooden benches that have been here for years. Sometimes the power goes out, or the rain makes the road a bit muddy, but we just carry on with the lessons. It is a local spot for the local people. We don't spend money on big ads or fancy signs. People find out about us through their neighbors or family members who studied here before. Daulatpur is a quiet place mostly, and we like it that way. We just keep things moving, making sure the kids have their books and their schedules. It’s simple work but it keeps the community going. We are just here, doing what an inter college is supposed to do in a place like Mau. We don't need any fluff.
