Located in Mardan Pur, Ghazipur, our college is a place where we deal with traditional Ayurvedic studies. The setting is quite rural, which actually fits the kind of things we teach here. There are a lot of plants and green spaces around the college. People from the surrounding areas often come to the college because we have a small clinic attached to it. You can often smell herbs or different medicines being prepared in the back. The building itself is an older style, with thick walls that stay relatively cool even when the Ghazipur sun is beating down on us. The classrooms have wooden furniture that has seen a lot of use. The students are usually busy looking at charts or reading old texts about medicine. We have a small staff of teachers who have been here for years. In the rainy season, the whole place turns very green, but the roads to Mardan Pur can get a bit difficult to navigate. We don't have high-tech gadgets or shiny glass walls. It is a very grounded place. Most of the people working here live in the nearby villages, so we all know each other’s names. It’s a quiet life, focused on teaching the students and helping the patients who walk through our doors. Every day starts early with cleaning the courtyard and getting the clinic ready. It’s a very practical, old-fashioned way of doing things, and we like it that way.
