Utvisha Kala Kendra Foundation

Utvisha Kala Kendra Foundation is over in Ghaziabad, specifically at B-169/S-2 in Shalimar Garden. We’re pretty close to Loni too, so we get people from both sides coming in. Our place is basically a center for arts and culture, though it doesn’t look like a fancy gallery. It’s more of a lived-in space where there’s always something being made or discussed. We have brushes, paints, and all sorts of art supplies tucked into the corners. The address is in a busy part of Uttar Pradesh, 201005, where there’s always noise from the street and neighbors going about their business. We like the energy of Shalimar Garden because it keeps us connected to the real world. We aren't interested in being some high-end institution. We just want a place where local people can come and be creative without feeling judged. Sometimes the floors are a bit messy with scraps of paper or spilled ink, but that’s just how it is when you’re working on art projects. We spend our evenings talking to young people or anyone who has an interest in the arts. It’s a small team here, just a few of us who care about keeping the local culture alive in Ghaziabad. We don't have big budgets or fancy advertisements. People usually find us by word of mouth or by seeing our sign when they’re walking through the neighborhood near Loni. We keep the doors open late most nights because that's when people have time to come by and create something.
