Sarasthi Women Welfare Society

You can find us up on the second floor of the Parasvnath Paradise building in Mohan Nagar. Our office is B-33, and you have to walk up the stairs since there isn't always a lift working. The sign on the door says Sarasthi Women Welfare Society, but we are mostly just a group of women from the neighborhood trying to handle things the best we can. It’s a modest space, and it can get a bit warm in the summer months, but it serves us well enough. We spend our days dealing with whatever issues come our way. Sometimes it’s about helping someone with a small loan or just listening to a friend who is going through a hard time. We aren’t like those big organizations you see in the news with lots of money. We are just regular people living our lives. The office usually has a lot of papers scattered around, and there’s almost always a pot of tea being shared in the corner. We have been in Mohan Nagar for a while now, so people generally know where to look for us. It is not always easy, and sometimes we struggle to get things organized, but we make do with what we have. We don’t use any complicated words or have long meetings. We just sit down together and talk. If someone needs a hand, we try to figure out a way to help them. It is simple work, really.
