U. A. Overseas

Our little office for U. A. Overseas is right at E- 5 Udyog Kunj. It is a busy spot, and we spend most of our time dealing with international orders. This means a lot of weird hours because our clients are usually in different time zones. The building itself has seen better days, and the filing cabinets are definitely older than some of the staff. We focus on getting things shipped out to people who need them far away, mostly handling whatever comes across the desk. Udyog Kunj can be a real headache for parking, but we have our own little rhythm here. A few of us have been around since the very beginning, so we’ve seen the whole area grow and change. We don’t use any of those expensive software systems, just a lot of handwritten lists and some basic programs on the computers. When the internet goes down, which happens sometimes, we just switch back to pen and paper. It is just a regular workplace where everyone knows what they are supposed to be doing. There are no long meetings here; we just talk across the room. If a customer calls, they usually talk to the same person every time. We keep the kettle going and try to stay ahead of the shipping schedules. It is a lot of work, but we manage to keep it together and get the boxes out the door.
