The Chocolate Bar

Our little shop, The Chocolate Bar, is tucked away in Shalimar Garden Extension Number 2, at C-5/305. It’s not on a main road, so you have to know where you’re going to find us. We’ve been here in Sahibabad for a few years now. The space is small, but it’s enough for what we do. We spend most of our time melting chocolate and filling molds. It’s a messy job, and our aprons are usually covered in cocoa by noon. We don't have a big staff, just me and a friend who helps out when things get busy. We try to keep things simple and not get too ahead of ourselves. Sometimes we run out of certain ingredients because the supplier didn't show up, and we just have to tell people we don't have that today. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. We just put a sign out front and hope for the best. The neighbors are nice, and they sometimes pop in just to chat while we work. It gets really hot in the kitchen during the summer, which makes working with chocolate a bit of a nightmare. We’ve had to learn how to manage that over time. It’s not a perfect setup, and the shop could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s ours. We just keep making what we can and enjoying the process every day.
