Shree Krishna Store

Over in Hapur, at New Shivpuri 77, you’ll find our small shop, Shree Krishna Store. It’s located in a residential lane, so it is mostly the neighbors who come by. We sell the usual things people need daily, like milk in the morning and bread. I live just behind the shop, so it’s easy to open up whenever someone knocks on the side door after hours. The shelves are a bit old, and the paint is peeling in a few spots, but it holds everything fine. We have a deep freezer for the cold drinks, which hums loudly all day long. New Shivpuri is a decent place to be, though the roads can get a bit muddy when it rains heavily. I remember when we first got the sign board made; it felt like a big deal back then. Now, it’s just part of the street. I handle most of the sales myself, counting out change from a plastic tray. We don’t do home delivery with a bike or anything; usually, people just send their kids down with a list of items. It’s a quiet existence. I know exactly who likes which brand of soap and who wants their flour grounded extra fine. We keep a few chairs outside for the older men to sit and talk in the evenings. It is not a supermarket, just a local store for local people who live nearby.
