Shree General Store

We've been at 87/68 Hamirpur Road for quite some time now. Most folks around Raipurwa know us since we are right near Eldigo Garden. It’s a busy spot. Every morning starts the same way, unlocking the shutters and getting things ready for the first few people who stop by on their way to work. We keep the usual things people need for their homes. It’s not a big fancy place, just a regular shop where you can grab what you forgot to buy earlier. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to shuffle boxes around, which can be a bit of a mess. My family helps out when it gets crowded in the evenings. Kanpur summers are tough, so we keep the fan going and try to stay cool while chatting with the neighbors. People come in for a pack of biscuits or some soap and end up staying for a five-minute talk about the weather or the traffic on the main road. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s just how it is here. Nothing too complicated, just keeping the shelves filled and making sure we have what people ask for. If something isn't in stock, we try to get it by the next time they visit. It keeps us busy from morning until we close up at night. There isn't much more to it than that.
