You will find us in Chaudhary Market. It’s right on the Delhi Road here in Hapur. This part of town is always jammed with trucks and bikes. Our shop is tucked away but once you know where it is, it’s easy to spot. We deal with various items for the local trades. Not just one thing. Whatever people in the market need at the moment. We’ve been here since the market was much smaller than this. Now there are shops everywhere. It’s hard to keep track of the neighbors. My father started this place years ago. He used to sit on a wooden bench all day. Now I have a proper desk, but the work is still the same. Hard. We deal with suppliers from all over. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic. That’s just part of the business. You can’t get angry about it. You just wait and drink tea. The walls of the shop could use a new coat of paint. We’ve been saying that for two years now. But we are always too busy with customers to actually do it. Clients come in and talk about the weather or the crop prices. We listen. It’s part of being in Hapur. Everyone knows everyone. We aren't trying to be big or famous. Just trying to do our job right. We open early. Usually before the sun gets too high. By evening, the whole market is glowing.
