Shri Bala Ji Batteries

We are over at Nehru Nagar 144, just a small spot called Shri Bala Ji Batteries. Most days it is just us here moving heavy batteries around and checking if they still hold a charge. It gets pretty hot inside because of all the equipment and the lead. We have been in this part of Nehru Nagar for a while now so most neighbors know where to find us when their inverter stops working or the car won't start in the morning. People just drop by at 144 when they have trouble. We spend a lot of time cleaning terminals and topping up the distilled water. It is not fancy work, but it keeps things running. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped with all the old battery casings stacked up in the corner waiting to be taken away. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the acid and the heavy lifting. The floor usually has some marks from the crates, and there is always a bit of a smell of electronics and metal in the air. When the power goes out in the neighborhood, that is when we get the busiest. Everyone remembers their battery then. We just stay here at the shop and do what needs doing until the sun goes down. It is a simple life at Shri Bala Ji Batteries and we just try to keep the lights on for people. We don't have a website, just this physical place.
