Sarla Store

The shop is called Sarla Store and you can find it at 195, Girdhar Enclave, right on the GT Road in Ghaziabad. We are directly across from the Devi Dayal Appartment, which is a good landmark for people trying to find us. It gets really loud out there because of all the traffic moving on the main road. I spend most of my day sitting behind the counter watching the cars go by. Inside, we have mostly daily needs, things people forget to buy at the big markets. I have to keep the floor clean because the dust from the road comes in every time someone opens the door. Usually, in the evenings, it gets a bit more crowded when people come home from work. I’ve been working here for a while now and I know most of the faces from Girdhar Enclave. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use a small torch to find things on the back shelves. It is a bit cramped with all the boxes of detergent and oil cans stacked up, but it works. I try to keep the stock updated so I don't have to tell people we are out of things. Ghaziabad weather is quite harsh in the summer, so the fan stays on all day. It’s just a small spot for the neighborhood to get their stuff without going too far. I usually close up by nine and head home. It is a simple life running this place.
