Our group is located in Village and Post Rampur, which is in the Mariyahu Tehsil of Jaunpur district. You have to ask for Rakesh if you’re looking for us, as we operate out of that location. Samvedna Hastshilp Producer Company Limited is really about the local artisans in our village. We don’t have a city office or any of those modern things. We work out of our homes and gather together when we have a big project to finish. Hastshilp means handicrafts, and that is exactly what we do. It’s stuff that’s been passed down through families here. We decided to make it a producer company so we could help each other out with selling and getting materials. It’s not always easy because we are quite far from the big markets. Sometimes we have to wait for days for a truck to come by and pick up our goods. We don’t have a website or anyone to do fancy advertising. We just rely on what our hands can do. The village is quiet, and we like it that way, even if it makes business a bit slower. We spend our time weaving, carving, or whatever needs doing, usually sitting outside in the shade. It’s a simple life, and the business reflects that. We just want to keep our traditions going and make sure the families here have a bit of income. It's hard work but it's what we know here in Rampur. Anyway, that is what we do.
