Sachin Kirana Stores

My shop is Sachin Kirana Stores and we are right here at Karol Bagh Block Number 27, Old Rajendra Nagar Colony 64. I’ve been opening the shutters every morning for a long time now. It’s a small place, honestly. Sometimes the boxes pile up so high I can barely see the back wall. People come in for salt or maybe some lentils because they forgot them for dinner. It is usually just me or my cousin sitting behind the wooden counter. The fan makes a bit of noise in the summer but it keeps the air moving. We get the milk crates early before the sun is even fully up. I spend a lot of my time writing down what we need to order for next week. Sometimes the street outside gets really loud with the scooters and the kids playing near the gate of block 27. It isn’t a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that. We just have what people need for their kitchens. I know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names now. We talk about the weather or how the local market is doing while I weigh out the sugar. It’s hard work, lifting the heavy bags and making sure nothing goes bad on the shelves. My back hurts a bit by the time evening rolls around. We just try to keep things stocked up properly so nobody leaves disappointed. That's about it really.
