I started Randhir Painter a while back in Bharat Nagar Gari Gaon. The shop is on Meerut Road, right near the Mgatram Vidhyalay school. You can hear the kids playing during their breaks, which makes the day go by faster. I usually have paint on my clothes and shoes because I am always in the middle of a project. It is just me and a couple of helpers sometimes. We handle mostly local houses and small shops that need a new look. My workspace is filled with half-empty tins, brushes soaking in jars, and sketches of signs. I don't use fancy machines; most of what I do is by hand. It takes longer that way, but it feels more real. People come by and ask for prices, and we just talk it out right there on the sidewalk. Meerut Road is always busy with trucks and cars, so it is never quiet. I like being near the school because it feels like a lively part of the village. Sometimes I do some sign writing too, if someone needs a board for their new business. I am not a big company with a fleet of vans. I just have my basic gear and a bike to get around. It is a simple life and I have been doing it long enough that my hands know the work better than my head does. I just enjoy finishing a job.
