About Sudha Art Gallery – Art & Craft in Ghaziabad
The GT Road is always a mess of trucks and cars, and Sector 5 isn't much quieter. At Sudha Art Gallery, we try to keep things a bit more peaceful inside, but the noise still leaks in through the door at 6-A. We have a lot of frames leaning against the walls and paintings hanging wherever there is a bit of space. It’s not a polished museum or anything like that. Mostly, it’s just us working with wood and glass to get things ready for people who want their pictures covered. There’s always the smell of glue and cut wood in the air. Sometimes an artist will come in and talk for an hour about something we don't really understand, but we listen anyway. The lighting inside is a bit yellow, which maybe isn't the best for looking at colors, but it’s what we have. Dust is our biggest enemy here on GT Road. You wipe a frame and ten minutes later a layer of grey is back on it. We've got pieces of glass tucked into corners and scraps of matting everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren't used to it. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us doing the work every day. People come in with old photos or new canvases, and we just figure out the best way to hold them together without making too much of a mess.
