Rajiv Machines is over on Meerut Road, specifically at Plot No. 4 in the Punjab Expeller Compound. If you’ve ever driven down Street No. 6, you probably seen our sign hanging there. It’s an industrial area, so it’s always a bit dusty and there’s always the sound of metal clanging or trucks idling nearby. We spend most of our time out on the floor dealing with the machines. It isn’t the kind of place where you’d wear a suit and tie. Most of us have grease on our hands by lunchtime. We’ve been in this spot for quite a long time now. The building is old but it holds up well against the rain. We make various types of machinery and parts that people need for their own shops. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic when three orders come in at once, but we figure it out eventually. There’s no big corporate office here, just a small cabin where the paperwork stays in stacks. We try to be fair with everyone who walks in. It’s hard work, and the heat in the summer can be pretty brutal under the tin roof. Still, there’s a good sense of accomplishment when a machine finally ships out. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to keep the wheels turning and pay the bills. It gets pretty loud in the afternoons, but that is just part of the trade. We focus on the metal and the bolts and getting it right.
