Rainbow Nursery School

Our school is located on Plot No 95 in Vasundhara Sector 3. It’s a nice part of Ghaziabad, mostly houses and small shops around us. Rainbow Nursery School is a small place, which is actually how we like it. The front gate is painted bright colors, but the sun has faded them a bit over the years. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of little kids laughing or sometimes crying if they’ve just started. We spend a lot of time cleaning up crayon marks from the walls and making sure the floor isn't slippery. It’s not a high-end corporate preschool. We have wooden blocks, some old swings, and a lot of paper cutouts pinned to the boards. The staff are mostly women from the neighborhood who have kids of their own. We don't have a big administrative department. If a parent has a question, they just walk in and talk to whoever is at the desk. During the festivals, we put up some decorations, but they’re usually handmade by the staff. The afternoons get quiet once the kids go home, and that’s when we prepare for the next day. It’s a very local, down-to-earth kind of place. We don't use fancy jargon. We just look after the children while their parents are at work. It’s busy and tiring, but it feels right being part of the Vasundhara community.
