Footprints Childcare

Down at Plot 6 A in Om Vihar, you’ll find our childcare center. We are right in the middle of Crossing Republik in Ghaziabad, which is a place that never really sleeps. It’s a lot of high-rise buildings and cars everywhere, so our little spot feels like a bit of a break from all that concrete. We started Footprints because parents in this area needed a place for their little ones while they go off to work in Delhi or Noida. The rooms are filled with toys, some of them missing a piece or two, and there are drawings taped to the walls everywhere you look. It’s not a quiet place, that’s for sure. You can hear crying, laughing, and the sound of blocks falling over pretty much all day long. We have a routine for naps and snacks, though sometimes the kids have other plans. The staff here are mostly local women who know how to handle a toddler who doesn't want to eat their vegetables. We don't use big words or fancy theories about how to raise kids. We just make sure they are fed, clean, and having a decent time until their parents pull up in the evening. The gate at Om Vihar stays busy during pick-up time, and we spend a lot of time waving goodbye. It’s a simple setup, but it works for the families around here who just need a reliable hand.
