Rahul Side Corner Store

Being at Rahul Side Corner Store means dealing with a lot of noise because we are right near the Anand Vihar Signal. If you know Ghaziabad, you know that signal is always a bit of a mess with cars and rickshaws. Our spot is in Ramprastha on Ramte Ram Road. It is literally a corner store like the name says. I spend most of my day behind the counter. The shelves are packed with everything from biscuits to washing powder. It is tight in here, but we manage to fit a lot in. I usually start the day by cleaning the glass jars on the front desk. The smog from the traffic gets on everything, so it is a constant job. People who are stuck at the red light sometimes hop out to grab a quick pack of cigarettes or some gum. It is a fast-paced spot because of the location. I don't really have time for long chats during the peak hours. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time parking near the signal to drop off our crates. I have to run out and help them move things quickly before the police tell them to move. It’s just how things go here in Ghaziabad. At night, it finally gets quiet after the signal stops being so busy. I count the cash, check what is running low, and pull down the metal gate. It’s just a normal corner shop life.
