Our place is located at 42/27 Site 4 in the Industrial Area of Sahibabad. It's not a typical shopping street like you find in the city center. There are a lot of factories and warehouses around us. Because of that, we have a lot of space to keep a big variety of sarees. We get people coming from all over because they know we have a lot of stock sitting here. It’s dusty outside with all the trucks going by, but we keep the inside as clean as we can. We have piles of sarees in every color. It’s mostly just me and a couple of helpers. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or big signs. People find us by word of mouth mostly. We handle a lot of volume here. Sometimes a shopkeeper comes to buy a bunch of stuff, and other times it’s just a lady looking for one nice saree for a party. We treat everyone the same. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons in this industrial zone. We just keep the doors open and keep working. Dealing with the suppliers takes up a lot of my time, but I still like showing the sarees to customers myself when I can. It’s a straightforward business, nothing too complicated about it. We just sell what we have and try to keep the shelves full. It’s a lot of manual work but that is how we have always done things.
