Pioneer Computer

If you go down Ambedkar Road, you’ll find us right opposite the Shipra Hotel at number 343. Pioneer Computer has been sitting at this spot for quite a while. Being across from a hotel means there is always something happening on the street. The hotel across the way gets quite busy during wedding season, so the whole street ends up filled with cars and music. We deal with all sorts of computer issues. The shop floor is usually covered with towers and monitors that people have dropped off for us to check. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. We have some old shelves that hold spare parts and cables that we’ve collected over the years. Some days it’s just one person working, and other days we have a few hands on deck if things get busy. We don't use any fancy sales pitches. We just look at what’s broken and try to fix it. People from the neighborhood know us by name, which is nice. We get our fair share of dust from the road, so we’re always wiping down the glass counters. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just show up, do the work, and help out the people who walk through the door. It’s a steady routine and we are happy with it.
