We've been sitting here in Chaityania Nagar for a long time now. Pentagon Batteries is just the name on the board, but mostly it is just me and a couple of helpers dealing with heavy stacks of lead and plastic every day. People come by when their car won't start or when the power goes out at home and their inverter is dead. It’s messy work. Your hands get stained and the floor always has some mark on it from a battery casing. We are at 171/172, which isn't hard to find if you know the Hapur area. Sometimes the weather gets really hot and that’s when everyone realizes their battery is old and can't take the heat anymore. We just try to keep things moving for the locals. We don't have a fancy showroom with glass and bright lights. It is more of a workshop where we keep stock and test things out with the meters. If a battery can be saved, we tell you straight. If it's gone, it's gone and you need a new one. We talk to the neighbors, drink some tea while waiting for a charge to finish, and handle whatever comes through the door. It’s just steady work. Some days are quiet, others we are lifting heavy stuff until our backs ache. That is how it goes here in the shop. We have different sizes for bikes and trucks too. Usually, someone is around from morning until late evening because people always need power at the wrong times.
