Pavan General Store

Being near the Ghaziabad railway station means there is always a lot of noise and movement outside Pavan General Store. I have been running this place at 33 Ghaziabad for many years now. The location is quite good because people coming from the station often need something last minute like a bottle of water or some biscuits for their long journey. The shop itself is small and packed from the floor to the ceiling. I even have stuff hanging from the ceiling hooks because there just isn't enough shelf space for everything. It is a bit of a tight squeeze when more than three people come inside at once. I usually have the radio playing some old songs in the background to keep me company. My nephew helps me on the weekends when the crowds get bigger. We sell a bit of everything, from notebooks and pens to batteries and shampoo sachets. Sometimes the trains are delayed and the area gets really packed with people just waiting around. I see a lot of travelers passing through, but I also have my regular customers who live in the nearby colonies. They come for their monthly supplies of soap and oil. I keep a small stool near the door for the older folks to sit on while I pack up their heavy bags. The floor needs a good sweep every few hours because of the dust from the street. It's a busy life but I enjoy it.
