Papu General Stores

Papu General Stores is right in the heart of Suny Bazar in Ghaziabad. If you know the bazar, you know how hectic it can get, especially on the weekends. We are a typical local store where you can find just about anything for your kitchen or your house. We have sacks of rice and flour sitting on the floor and shelves packed tight with soaps, oils, and snacks. It’s a bit of a squeeze to get around the counter sometimes. We start very early in the morning, usually before the sun is fully up, to take deliveries from the trucks. The air in the bazar is always full of different smells—spices, sweets, and sometimes the exhaust from the rickshaws. We know most of our customers by their faces and what they usually buy. Someone will come in for just one packet of biscuits and end up staying for ten minutes to talk about the weather or the price of onions. It’s that kind of place. We don't have a computer system; we just know where everything is and what the price is by memory. Sometimes it’s exhausting being on your feet all day, but we like being in the middle of all the action in Suny Bazar. It’s a busy, noisy, and honest way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for many years now.
