Palki Saree Shop

We've been at New Shiv Puri Chowk for a while now. Most people in Hapur know the 1424 spot. It’s a busy area and we just try to keep things moving. We have a lot of sarees here. The shop isn't huge but we fit a lot in. Sometimes the stacks get high and it's a bit messy, but that's how it goes. People come in looking for something specific for a wedding or just for daily wear. We show them what we have on the shelves. It takes time to fold everything back up after a busy morning. The traffic at the chowk can be loud during the day. We usually open up early to beat some of the heat. My family helps out when it gets crowded. We don't really do big ads or anything. Most folks just walk in because they were passing by or their neighbor told them about a color we had. We try to keep the stock updated so there is always something different to look at. Living and working in Hapur means you know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s just a regular shop where we sell sarees. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, more shops opening up around us. But we stay right here at 1424. It’s a simple life. We drink tea, talk to the customers, and try to make sure they find a saree they actually like before they go home.
