Om Ice

Our place is at Door No-173 on Boundary Road, over in the Civil Line area. We’re pretty easy to find if you know where Lal Kurti is, since we are right nearby. It’s a bit of an older part of town, and we’ve been at this address for a long time. The main thing we do is deal with ice, which means a lot of lifting and moving heavy bags around. The floor is almost always wet, so you have to be careful where you step. It gets really busy in the mornings when people are trying to get their ice before the heat of the day really kicks in. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that, just the space on Boundary Road where the trucks come and go. Sometimes the traffic near Lal Kurti gets backed up, and it makes getting our deliveries out a bit of a headache. We are just a local operation, nothing big or corporate. It’s mostly just hard work and making sure the machines are making ice as fast as people are buying it. In the winter it slows down a bit, which gives us time to fix things up around the shop. But when the summer hits, we’re on our feet from early morning until late at night. Door No-173 is where we stay, just keeping things moving and trying to stay cool ourselves. It’s a basic business, but people need what we have.
