New Bombay Saree Center

New Bombay Saree Center is located at 14 Turab Nagar. We’ve been here in this spot for a good while now. If you know Turab Nagar, you know how it gets on the weekends. It is a bit of a squeeze with all the people and the traffic outside, but we like it. The shop itself is filled with sarees from floor to ceiling. Most days, we are just busy folding things back up after customers look through the piles. My family and I run the place. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just rows of shelves and a few stools for people to sit on while they look at the fabric. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break. We see a lot of the same faces from the neighborhood coming in year after year. It feels like home to us here at number 14. We try to keep things organized, but with so many different colors and patterns, it’s always a bit of a mess by the end of the day. We just open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for the first person to walk through the door. It isn't a big corporate operation, just a local shop trying to do things right. We keep a lot of variety because everyone wants something different. That's just how it goes here.
