Maharani Tea

We are located in Raj Nagar, just a short walk from the Masjid. Most people around here know us because we’ve been in this spot for a long time. Our tea business isn't a high-tech operation. We mostly deal with large sacks of tea leaves that we sort through by hand. The room we work in stays relatively cool, which is nice during the summer months. You can hear the call to prayer from the Masjid throughout the day, which gives the place a nice feel. We don't have a big sign outside, just a small one that's a bit faded now. Inside, there are piles of crates and boxes everywhere. We spend a lot of time checking the leaves for twigs or stones that shouldn't be there. It’s slow work, but it needs to be done. The tea comes in from various gardens and we try to keep things organized. Sometimes the orders get mixed up, and we have to spend the afternoon fixing the mistakes. We aren't perfect, but we try to be honest about what we are selling. The neighbors often stop by for a chat while we are loading the small truck. Raj Nagar is a tight community, and we feel like we belong here. It’s just a small tea place where we do our best with what we have.
