Maa Anjani Sari Collection

We’re located at Yadav Chowk in Sangam Park, which is part of the Khora Colony area in Ghaziabad. It’s a very crowded neighborhood, and there’s always something going on right outside our door. Our shop is where we keep all the saris stacked up in glass cupboards. We spend a lot of our time unfolding them to show the patterns and then carefully folding them back up again. It’s a lot of manual work, and our arms get tired by the end of the day. The street outside is usually dusty and full of rickshaws, so we have to clean the glass every single morning. We’ve got a couple of plastic stools for people to sit on while they look through the collection. It’s not a big, fancy showroom, just a local shop for the people living nearby. We know the families in Sangam Park pretty well. They come to us when there’s a wedding or a festival coming up in the colony. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just sell saris and try to be helpful when someone can’t decide on a color. Sometimes the power is a bit shaky, but we have some backup lights to keep things going. It’s a busy life in Khora, but we’re used to the noise and the pace of the neighborhood after all these years.
